Button Fails to Capitalise on Home Advantage in Silverstone Finale
Jenson Button failed to capitalise on home advantage when he finished a disappointing sixth - no better than where he qualified.
Sebastian Vettel was unstopable leading the race from taking pole position to the chequred flag. Red Bull maintained an impressive 1-2 with Mark Webber coming in second.
Button got off to a slow start dropping from 6th to 9th but had recovered to 8th by the second lap, finally climbing to his finishing position late in the race. Lewis Hamilton finished 16 the first time a McLaren has failed to score points in four succesive races since 1981.
This was also fairwell to Silverstone as hosts of the British F1 Grand Prix with the venue for next years race being transferred to Donington Park in Derbyshire.
You too could drive on the famous Donington Park Circuit with many of our experiences available there - including the single seater race cars (which are smaller version of the F1 cars). click here to see the experiences including those single seater race cars.
