Two of Radio 1’s favourites, hit Rockingham Motor SpeedwayTwo of Radio 1’s favourites, Vernon Kay and Comedy Dave, hit Rockingham Motor Speedway today going head to head in some of The Racing School’s most challenging and exhilarating cars.
With the current Formula 1 championship a hot topic, Vernon and Dave wanted to find out which of them was the quickest driver around the fastest circuit in Europe. Setting the duo an afternoon of driving challenges, The Racing School provided supercharged MINI Coopers, Ferrari 360’s and 5.7 litre, 380 bhp V8 Supercars.
Then, when Racing School chief instructor Neil Boardman felt the pair had learned all they could it was time for a head to head race in the Formula 1 style Single Seaters. Racing at speeds of up to 120mph, inches from the ground, their newly developed skills were really put to the test.
The final challenge, designed to test their nerves under pressure, had the pair reading the pace notes on The Racing School’s rally stage for two-time British Super 1600 rally champion Justin Dale.
So who do you think won the Radio 1 Driving Challenge?
