Jenson Button took the F1 standings by the scruff of the neck and forged further ahead in the overall standings by taking maximum points at the Bahrain GP yesterday.
Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock started on the front of grid giving Toyota their first pole of the season. However Trulli and Sebestian Vettel seemed to be the creators of their own destiny by allowing Jenson Button through to win from fourth on the grid.
Rubens Barrichello ensured that the Brawn team continue to head up the constructors championship by coming in 5th just behing Lewis Hamilton who came up from fifth on the grid to finish fouth.
All eyes are now on Barcelona where McLaren and Ferrari are to introduce their upgraded 'double diffusers', with Brawn also adding a few upgrades to their car. The big surprise is that Red Bull are not putting any upgrades so will act as the barometer to see what impact these new upgrades will have had.
Does this mean that Jenson and the Brawn team will be swallowed up by the greater financial might of McLaren and Ferrari? Only Barcelona will tell us, but don't expect Jenson to suddenly become a bad driver and the Brawn team car to suddenly become poor......it may just make things that bit closer and even more exciting - if that is possible !!
